Kristen began her dance journey at the young age of 3 years old. She fell in love with all forms of dance and continued to pursue her serious training during her teen years. At the age of 14, she began assisting dance classes and started teaching her own tap and jazz classes soon after. By the age of 17, Kristen was a full time instructor teaching competitive dance to kids from all over the San Diego area. She found her passion for teaching and progressively found herself immersed in the competitive dance world. In 2001, Kristen attended Orange Coast College where she was part of the nationally ranked dance team that took the number one spot at the United Dance Association championships in Orlando, Florida. During this time, Kristen continued her dance education, and began working for Kids Artistic Revue where she traveled to cities all over the country as their musical theater and jazz instructor for their convention tours. Kristen married her highschool sweetheart in 2006 and took over ownership of her childhood dance studio in 2008. She owned and operated the San Diego Dance Centre for 8 years and became a sought out competitive dance choreographer for dancers who have gone on to pursue professional careers in the commercial dance and entertainment industries. Kristen became a full time instructor at Danceology Performing Arts Campus in 2016 and she continues to live her dancing dreams educating San Diego’s youth and working alongside her cousin Niki who has built a legacy that she is extremely grateful to be a part of.
